Our Founder’s story

UBI is an Igbo word meaning Garden. Well, the name was coined from my love for the Igbo tradition and the vision was born from the pain of losing the most important person to me in this world, my father. 

My father died at age 49 of diabetes. Diabetes led to partial stroke, brain damage, memory loss and eventually death and one thing that made this whole story get worse and personal was the doctor’s report stating we couldn’t manage his health /diet properly. From that day I decided that I didn’t want to lose any other person to anything I couldn’t control and I believe neither should as well, hence why UBI exists. I hope that this solution, UBI, solves your problems and also helps you stay healthy on a budget .
